Lee\u2019s car was recovered in nearby Vallejo, Calif. after the shameless car bandit reportedly stole the mayor\u2019s keys from her office two days ago. The door to her office was found tampered with, according to a source close to the Oakland Police Department. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe Oakland Police Department is investigating the theft of a city-owned vehicle. On February 17, 2026, OPD was notified that the vehicle was stolen from Oakland City Hall,\u201d a police spokesperson said in a statement. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe vehicle was recovered within hours. OPD is following up on potential leads.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
The police believe they know who the culprit is and there is a warrant for their arrest, per the source.<\/p>\n
