FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) \u2014 A firefighter was sent to the hospital while trying to stop a motel fire on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Firefighters received a report of a fire at an abandoned motel on South G Street, a bit after 9:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
As firefighters were suppressing the fire on the upper floor, a firefighter fell through a hole and broke his leg.<\/p>\n
He was transported to a nearby hospital.<\/p>\n
The fire was contained, but the cause of the fire is still under investigation.<\/p>\n
Firefighters responded to another fire around Calaveras Street and McKenzie Avenue.<\/p>\n
When they arrived, they noticed smoke and flames coming from a detached structure from the home.<\/p>\n
They were able to stop the fire from spreading.<\/p>\n
