(KBAK\/KBFX) \u2014 Two people were injured after a shooting in southeast Bakersfield Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The Bakersfield Police Department said on February 18, 2026, at around 11:11 a.m., officers received a call for service in the area of Frank J. Fletcher Street and William F. Halsey Avenue, reporting a possible gunshot victim.<\/p>\n<p>When officers arrived, they found a victim suffering from major injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Police said another person was found with moderate injuries.<\/p>\n<p>The incident happened less than 10 minutes before officers were called to a <a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/news\/local\/bakersfield-police-investigating-shooting-outside-of-golden-valley-high-school-hosking-avenue-kern-county-california\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">person with injuries from a shooting at Golden Valley High School.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>SEE ALSO: <a href=\"https:\/\/bakersfieldnow.com\/news\/local\/bakersfield-police-investigating-shooting-outside-of-golden-valley-high-school-hosking-avenue-kern-county-california\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Bakersfield police investigating shooting outside of Golden Valley High School<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Police said the two incidents may be related, but cannot confirm.<\/p>\n<p>There is no suspect information at this time, and no one is in custody.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"BAKERSFIELD, Calif.
