(KGET) \u2014 The Bakersfield Police Department arrested 12 people last week after an encampment sweep near railroad property in southwest Bakersfield.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">BPD was assisted by their impact team and community vitality unit. The arson division with Bakersfield Fire Department also assisted along with Bakersfield animal control and code enforcement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">BPD said the people were arrested under trespassing violations.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">In total, 17 encampments were cleaned up, two citations were issued and two animals were seized during the sweep.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Three subjects and three dogs along with their owners were taken to the Brundage Navigation Center.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">According to BPD, 190 cubic yards of trash were removed and hauled away in the sweep.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
