SAN JOSE, Calif. (Nevada Athletics) – Nevada dropped a matchup on the road, 87-71, against San Jos\u00e9 State on Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n
Despite the Pack beating the Spartans in the paint, 32-14, and the bench battle, 15-11, San Jos\u00e9 State controlled the game from the start, shooting 52 percent from the field and 52 percent from threes.<\/p>\n
Corey Camper Jr. led the way with 18 points, four assists, and three steals. Camper Jr. now has 1,000 career points. The Little Rock, Ark. native was followed by Elijah Price (14) and Vaughn Weems (11) in the double-digit points.<\/p>\n
Price led the Pack on board play with seven rebounds while adding three steals on defense. Weems also made his impact on the Pack defense with 3 steals.<\/p>\n
First Half:<\/p>\n
Nevada struggled from the start and was unable to stop San Jos\u00e9 State\u2019s three-point game.<\/p>\n
The Spartans built a 12-point lead after starting off with five three-pointers before the first media timeout.<\/p>\n
SJSU continued its momentum, putting up its largest lead of the game, 18 points.<\/p>\n
Tayshawn Comer hit a stepback three-point jumper to close the half with a 47-32 score.<\/p>\n
Second Half:<\/p>\n
The Pack continued to battle in the second half, cutting the deficit to six points in the second half after an eight-point run.<\/p>\n
San Jos\u00e9 State didn\u2019t let the Pack create momentum, as they put on a 16-point lead to win the game, 87-71.<\/p>\n

Nevada returns to Lawlor Events Center for matchups against Utah State and New Mexico. The game against the Aggies is set for Saturday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m., while the Pack will face the Lobos on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 8 p.m.<\/p>\n
