It came after the Tigers defeated the Sunbirds 23-6 in the first meeting this year at home in the season-opener.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nScoring two goals apiece were juniors <a href=\"https:\/\/pacifictigers.com\/sports\/womens-water-polo\/roster\/anna-crum\/5629\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5629\" target=\"_blank\">Anna Crum<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/pacifictigers.com\/sports\/womens-water-polo\/roster\/ella-cowan\/5628\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5628\" target=\"_blank\">Ella Cowan<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/pacifictigers.com\/sports\/womens-water-polo\/roster\/laia-marsinach-ortega\/5984\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5984\" target=\"_blank\">Laia Marsinach Ortega<\/a>, and freshman <a href=\"https:\/\/pacifictigers.com\/sports\/womens-water-polo\/roster\/sophie-pethers\/6035\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"6035\" target=\"_blank\">Sophie Pethers<\/a>. Pacific garnered goals from 10 different student-athletes.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nIn net, junior <a href=\"https:\/\/pacifictigers.com\/sports\/womens-water-polo\/roster\/maja-lizy-dulic\/5630\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5630\" target=\"_blank\">Maja Lizy Dulic<\/a> and sophomore <a href=\"https:\/\/pacifictigers.com\/sports\/womens-water-polo\/roster\/laurel-cooper\/5648\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5648\" target=\"_blank\">Laurel Cooper<\/a> combined for four saves, four steals and just six goals allowed.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nThe scoring opened with goals by Crum and freshman <a href=\"https:\/\/pacifictigers.com\/sports\/womens-water-polo\/roster\/maria-ikonomou\/5988\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5988\" target=\"_blank\">Maria Ikonomou<\/a>. The Tigers went up 5-0 on a strike by Cowan at the 6:49 mark of the second quarter, and led 6-1 at half after a goal by Ortega.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nA goal by sophomore <a href=\"https:\/\/pacifictigers.com\/sports\/womens-water-polo\/roster\/kyra-lurito\/5643\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5643\" target=\"_blank\">Kyra Lurito<\/a> upped it to 10-3 with 1:47 to go in the third. Sophomore <a href=\"https:\/\/pacifictigers.com\/sports\/womens-water-polo\/roster\/olivia-turney\/5649\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"5649\" target=\"_blank\">Olivia Turney<\/a> added the final tally for Pacific to make it 14-5 midway through the fourth.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nPacific improved to 22-0 all-time against FPU.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nUp next, the Tigers will open Golden Coast Conference play with a 5 p.m. road game at Azusa Pacific on Friday, Feb. 27.
