<\/p>\n FRESNO, Calif. \u2013 Getting off to a fast start, the Pacific women’s water polo registered a wire-to-wire 14-6 win over Fresno Pacific on Wednesday at Sanger West High School. Stay Social

\nPacific (6-5) scored the first five goals of the game and clamped down defensively to shut down Fresno Pacific (4-7). It came after the Tigers defeated the Sunbirds 23-6 in the first meeting this year at home in the season-opener.
\n\u00a0
\nScoring two goals apiece were juniors Anna Crum<\/a>, Ella Cowan<\/a> and Laia Marsinach Ortega<\/a>, and freshman Sophie Pethers<\/a>. Pacific garnered goals from 10 different student-athletes.
\n\u00a0
\nIn net, junior Maja Lizy Dulic<\/a> and sophomore Laurel Cooper<\/a> combined for four saves, four steals and just six goals allowed.
\n\u00a0
\nThe scoring opened with goals by Crum and freshman Maria Ikonomou<\/a>. The Tigers went up 5-0 on a strike by Cowan at the 6:49 mark of the second quarter, and led 6-1 at half after a goal by Ortega.

\nA goal by sophomore Kyra Lurito<\/a> upped it to 10-3 with 1:47 to go in the third. Sophomore Olivia Turney<\/a> added the final tally for Pacific to make it 14-5 midway through the fourth.

\nPacific improved to 22-0 all-time against FPU.
\n\u00a0
\nUp next, the Tigers will open Golden Coast Conference play with a 5 p.m. road game at Azusa Pacific on Friday, Feb. 27. Pacific’s next home game is Saturday, March 7 when it hosts UC Davis at 5 p.m.
