Three\u00a0San Bernardino County\u00a0men were arrested in connection with an illegal narcotics operation\u00a0and the unlawful possession of firearms that also uncovered the possession of several explosive devices, officials announced.<\/p>\n

On Feb. 17, deputies with the San Bernardino County Sheriff\u2019s Department\u2019s Gang and Narcotics Division served a search warrant in the 13150 block of Maplewood Drive in Yucaipa.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring the search of the residence, deputies located multiple firearms, ammunition, and suspected fentanyl,\u201d sheriff\u2019s officials said in a\u00a0news release<\/a>.\u00a0\u201cDeputies also discovered several suspected explosive devices inside the residence.\u201d<\/p>\n

The discovery of the alleged explosive devices prompted safety protocols and the evacuation of the residence along with approximately 10 other nearby homes, while the SBSD Bomb\u00a0and Arson Division responded, along with federal agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter examining the devices, personnel safely rendered the items inoperable and removed them for proper disposal,\u201d\u00a0sheriff\u2019s\u00a0officials said. \u201cOnce the area was determined to be\u00a0safe,\u00a0residents were allowed to return to their homes.\u201d<\/p>\n

William\u00a0Pedrino, 55, was arrested on charges of possession of materials with the intent to manufacture a destructive device or explosive, possession of a\u00a0destructive device and being under the influence of a controlled substance while in possession of a loaded firearm.<\/p>\n

Two other men, Joshua McMullin, 35, and Noel Montiel, 27, were taken into custody on probation violations, officials said.<\/p>\n

All three men were booked at the Central Detention Center.<\/p>\n
