The Olympics are in their most important games, but the San Jose Sharks have returned to practice for the first time since the break began.<\/p>\n
Almost every player was accounted for at Sharks practice on Wednesday, but there are some missing players other than the ones at the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026<\/a>. Sharks coach Ryan Warsofsky told reporters that he isn\u2019t sure about the return timelines for the four in Milan.<\/p>\n Ty Dellandrea<\/a> is still considered week-to-week, according to Warsofsky. The San Jose Sharks coach expects the forward back at some point this season, but he hasn\u2019t returned to the ice. Dellandrea is dealing with a lower-body injury suffered against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Jan. 6.<\/p>\n Tyler Toffoli<\/a> was also not present during practice. The veteran winger did skate on his own, according to the head coach, but has a minor lower-body injury. Warsofsky told reporters that Toffoli suffered the injury during the Sharks\u2019 loss to the<\/a> Colorado Avalanche<\/a> on Feb. 4.<\/p>\n The other regular that was missing from the San Jose Sharks practice is defenseman Dmitry Orlov<\/a>. The Sharks defenseman is healthy, but experienced \u201ctravel issues,\u201d according to Warsofsky. They are following the game, but are so game-focused on their own team, they can sometimes lose sight of the child-like fandom of the game they love. With NHL players returning for the Olympics, the San Jose Sharks have been loving the action.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s been awesome as a fan,\u201d Sharks forward Adam Gaudette<\/a> told SHD. \u201cIt\u2019s been great to have hockey games, men\u2019s and women\u2019s games to watch every day. Obviously, [I\u2019m] cheering for the U.S., but I\u2019m also cheering for [Celebrini] as well. It\u2019s awesome to see him doing so well.\u201d<\/p>\n Macklin Celebrini<\/a> has put the hockey world on notice with his play at the Olympics. The Sharks superstar leads the tournament in goals with five and had three points in Canada\u2019s 4-3 overtime win over Czechia in the quarter finals on Wednesday.<\/p>\n Celebrini opened the scoring for Team Canada and had the primary assist on Mitch Marner\u2019s overtime winning goal.<\/p>\n
