ROCHESTER, Mich. \u2014\u00a0 The Oakland Golden Grizzlies Track and Field team is headed to Saginaw for their final meet before the Horizon League Indoor Track and Field Championships at the SVSU Tune-Up.<\/p>\n
Last weekend, the Golden Grizzlies split their time at Grand Valley and Youngstown, as Eliza Bush<\/a> picked up another freshman record in the 5000m race and Jamie Giese<\/a> broke her own school record in the women’s shot put (14.95m) and leads the league in the event.<\/p>\n At GVSU, Haileigh Bissett<\/a> led the way in the women’s mile, clocking a personal record of 4:59.98 to finish sixth overall, while Bush posted a 16:54.64 followed by teammate Courtney Bovair<\/a> in the women’s 5000m. Simon Griemert<\/a> cleared 4.37m in the men’s pole vault, securing a fifth-place finish. On the women’s side, Allison Shelton<\/a> matched that fifth-place finish with a season-best clearance of 3.43m, while Genna Golab<\/a> added a 3.28m clearance to cap off a solid day for the vault crew.<\/p>\n Ja-Van Poole<\/a> led with a pair of standout races, clocking in a 22.11 in the 200m before following it up with an impressive 48.14 in the 400m at the YSU Last Chance meet. Evan Bryan<\/a> added depth in the 200m with a 22.50, while Austin Graham<\/a> finished the 400m in 52.70.
