Macklin Celebrini<\/a>‘s remarkable 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics keeps rolling on.<\/p>\n

The Sharks’ superstar scored his Olympics-leading fifth goal and registered two assists — including the helper on the game-winning goal — as Team Canada prevailed 4-3<\/a> over Team Czechia in overtime on Wednesday at Milano Santagiulia Ice Hockey Arena in Milano, Italy to advance to the semifinals.<\/p>\n

Celebrini set up Mitch Marner for the OT goal, recording the primary assist to help Team Canada complete a wild comeback.<\/p>\n

Celebrini’s goal opened the scoring just over three minutes into the game.<\/p>\n

But Team Czechia scored the next two goals, meaning Team Canada trailed for the first time in the tournament.<\/p>\n

Team Canada, with all its firepower, responded midway through the second period, and Celebrini was involved.<\/p>\n

Added to Team Canada’s top power-play line after Sidney Crosby sustained an injury, Celebrini had the secondary assist on Nathan MacKinnon’s game-tying goal.<\/p>\n

Team Czechia took a late third-period lead, putting Team Canada on the brink of a stunning elimination, but Nick Suzuki netted the equalizer with less than four minutes remaining, setting up a 10-minute, 3-on-3 overtime.<\/p>\n

Eighty seconds into the extra period, Celebrini found Marner, who weaved through three defenders to score and send Team Canada into the semifinals, which take place Friday.<\/p>\n

Through four 2026 Olympics games, Celebrini has five goals<\/a> and four assists.<\/p>\n

Celebrini and Team Canada await their opponent, but at a minimum, they know they will be playing for a medal this weekend.<\/p>\n
