{"id":185440,"date":"2026-02-20T01:43:10","date_gmt":"2026-02-20T01:43:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/185440\/"},"modified":"2026-02-20T01:43:10","modified_gmt":"2026-02-20T01:43:10","slug":"nokia-owned-infinera-buys-its-san-jose-tech-site-solidifying-presence-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/185440\/","title":{"rendered":"Nokia-owned Infinera buys its San Jose tech site, solidifying presence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SAN JOSE \u2014 Nokia-owned Infinera bought its South San Jose site in a deal that cements the presence of the two companies in Silicon Valley.<\/p>\n<p>Infinera, a maker of optical chips, paid just under $27 million for a large <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mercurynews.com\/2025\/04\/11\/san-jose-tech-nokia-infinera-ai-chip-jobs-work-economy-build-property\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">office and research building<\/a> at 6373 San Ignacio Ave., according to documents filed Feb. 18 with the Santa Clara County Recorder\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" lazyautosizes lazyload\" alt=\"An interior view of Nokia's new optical chips manufacturing center in San Jose, Calif., on Friday, April 11, 2025. The production hub is on the ground floor of an existing two-story office and research building.<\/p>\n<p>The companies estimated the manufacturing effort would produce up to 200 jobs.<\/p>\n<p>Beverly Hills-based real estate firm Kennedy Wilson, acting through an affiliate, sold the building to Infinera through an all-cash deal, county property files show.<\/p>\n<p>Constructed in 2002, the building totals 82,100 square feet, according to Property Shark.<\/p>\n<p>In 2019, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mercurynews.com\/2019\/12\/09\/big-move-tech-company-infinera-plans-san-jose-hq-sunnyvale-tech-google-real-estate\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Infinera decided to shift its headquarters to the 6373 San Ignacio site<\/a>, moving the head offices out of Sunnyvale in the process.<\/p>\n<p>Finland-based <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nokia.com\/newsroom\/nokia-completes-acquisition-of-infinera-to-create-innovation-powerhouse-in-optical-networks-with-the-scale-to-power-the-data-center-revolution\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nokia bought Infinera for $2.3 billion in February 2025<\/a>.
