The existing 480-square-foot cottage was once described in 2018 as the \u201csmallest home listed in San Francisco\u201d by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/realestate\/article\/66-Bishop-St-San-Francisco-real-estate-small-home-13329416.php\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">SFGATE<\/a>. The latest application looks to replace it with an expanded building and accessory dwelling unit. Shelterwerk is the project architect.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed 24-foot-tall structure is expected to yield around 2,390 square feet, including a two-car garage, a one-bedroom accessory dwelling unit, and a two-bedroom main apartment. The site will include an open yard with a patio overlooking it, a second-floor deck, and a rooftop deck with an outdoor grill.<\/p>\n<p>Shelterwerk is an <a href=\"https:\/\/sfyimby.com\/neighborhoods\/oakland\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Oakland<\/a>-based architecture firm specializing in individual residences and office interiors. Illustrations depict a contemporary flat facade with boxy windows, board-and-batten panels, and stucco siding.<\/p>\n<p>The 0.06-acre property is located on the northern edge of Visitacion Valley, close to McLaren Park and an SFUSD High School. Public records show the property last sold in late 2018 for $600,000.
