Long Beach police are asking for help finding a 9-year-old girl who was last seen at the end of the schoolday today.<\/p>\n
Kaiya Pouvi was last seen at 1:30 p.m. at Bret Harte Elementary School, in the 1600 block of East Phillips Street, near South Street, after leaving her classroom when school was dismissed, according to the Long Beach Police Department.<\/p>\n
Kaiya was nowhere to be found when family members checked for her at the parent pickup zone.<\/p>\n
Police said Kaiya gave a note to another student earlier in the day stating that she was planning to run away. School staff confirmed that Kaiya was on campus before leaving the area.<\/p>\n
Kaiya does not have a cellphone or any device to assist with tracking her whereabouts, and has an unspecified amount of money. She was described as a 4-foot-10-inch-tall Asian girl weighing 70 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.<\/p>\n
She was last seen wearing a blue raincoat with white fur on the hood, black yoga pants, and tennis shoes.<\/p>\n
Police have not provided any information about a possible destination where Kaiya may be headed.<\/p>\n
