Police say a pedestrian was killed last night in a crash on Pacific Coast Highway, a few blocks east of the Los Angeles River.<\/p>\n
The crash happened at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday near Maine Avenue, according to Long Beach police.<\/p>\n
Authorities said a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV was traveling eastbound on Pacific Coast Highway when it collided with a 39-year-old man who was crossing the street outside a crosswalk.<\/p>\n
The victim, whose name was withheld pending family notification, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.<\/p>\n
The SUV driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.<\/p>\n
