CBS Sacramento\u2019s Tori Apodaca is leaving Channel 13 after three years at the station.<\/p>\n
Apodaca announced the news via Instagram<\/a> on Friday, her final day at KOVR, thanking colleagues and local viewers \u201cfor letting me live this dream.\u201d<\/p>\n Apodaca covered Sacramento County for the CBS owned-and-operated station based in West Sacramento.<\/p>\n \u201cI was so humbled to serve as \u2018your reporter covering Sacramento County\u2019 \u2014 getting answers and holding the powerful accountable,\u201d Apodaca posted. \u201cExcited to share what\u2019s next soon.\u201d<\/p>\n In her post, she reflected on watching Channel 13 while working at KHSL-TV Action News Now in Chico<\/a>, her first television market, \u201cnever imagining I\u2019d have the opportunity\u201d to work in the capital city.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel nothing but gratitude for the three years I spent here,\u201d Apodaca said in the post. \u201cFrom the talented photographers and team I worked with on the day-to-day to the community that trusted me to tell their stories: thank you for letting me live this dream.\u201d<\/p>\n It was unclear where Apodaca\u2019s next assignment would be \u2014 contracts often prevent on-air journalists from disclosing their plans until they arrive \u2014 but the Orange County native follows in the footsteps of other reporters who have moved on to bigger TV markets.<\/p>\n Andie Judson recently left ABC10 for KING-TV in Seattle, where she joined former KXTV colleague Madison Wade.<\/p>\n Ty Steele \u2014 a longtime fixture for viewers of KCRA and, before that, KTXL\u2019s Fox40 news team \u2014 left Sacramento in December 2024<\/a> for WDIV-TV in Detroit, where he was named evening anchor. Other KCRA personalties to depart recently include Brittany Hope, who\u2019s now at KNBC in Los Angeles, and Orko Manna, who reports for KHOU in Houston.<\/p>\n Sacramento is the 20th-largest TV market in the U.S., according to the Nielsen Co., which tracks viewership used by stations and advertisers.<\/p>\n
