(Feb.\u00a020,\u00a02026) \u2013\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/bayfc.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bay FC<\/a>\u00a0announced today the club\u00a0will host\u00a0an <a href=\"https:\/\/bayfc.com\/match\/2026-spring-friendly-vs-ottawa-rapid-fc\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/bayfc.com\/match\/2026-spring-friendly-vs-ottawa-rapid-fc\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">international friendly<\/a> Friday, April 17, welcoming\u00a0Northern Super League\u00a0(NSL)\u00a0club Ottawa Rapid FC\u00a0to\u00a0PayPal Park.\u00a0The\u00a0match will take place during a brief break in the NWSL schedule to account for\u00a0a FIFA International Window.\u00a0Kickoff is set for\u00a07\u00a0p.m. PT\u00a0at <a href=\"https:\/\/bayfc.com\/paypal-park\/a-z\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/bayfc.com\/paypal-park\/a-z\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">PayPal Park<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re excited to welcome Ottawa to the Bay Area and challenge ourselves against an opponent that\u2019s set an impressive standard early in its history,\u201d said Bay FC Head Coach Emma Coates. \u201cMatches like this are a tremendous opportunity for players, coaches, and fans on both sides to experience a different style of football, continue to develop and improve against top-quality players and grow the game around the world.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Canadian side will\u00a0visit\u00a0Bay FC\u00a0ahead of\u00a0its\u00a0own\u00a0season\u00a0opener\u00a0the following weekend. An inaugural member of\u00a0the NSL, the club sets out on its second season of play in 2026, coming off a\u00a0strong debut campaign that saw it\u00a0finish second in the regular season standings and\u00a0reach the NSL semifinal,\u00a0falling to eventual champion Vancouver Rise FC.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The club\u2019s roster boasts the 2025 NSL Golden Boot and Player of the Year winner DB Pridham,\u00a0a Bay Area native\u00a0hailing from Saratoga, Calif.,\u00a0who led the league with 18 goals in its inaugural season, and\u00a02025 NSL Defender of the Year Jylissa Harris on loan from the NWSL\u2019s Houston Dash.\u00a0The club is led on the sidelines by Head Coach Katrine Pedersen, a former Danish international who earned\u00a0over 200 international caps\u00a0during her playing career.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOttawa is coming to compete, and this fixture is a chance to show who we are and where we\u2019re headed as a club,\u201d said Pedersen. \u201cWe welcome every opportunity to push ourselves tactically, physically, and mentally.
