Four people were killed in a major wreck in Long Beach overnight.<\/p>\n
The single-car crash happened shortly before 1:30 a.m. Saturday on Lakewood Boulevard, south of Spring Street.<\/p>\n
\u201cFour individuals were in the vehicle,\u201d according to a police statement. \u201cLong Beach Fire Department personnel determined all four occupants deceased at the scene. Their ages and genders are unknown at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n
Firefighters and paramedics dispatched to the scene reported that a vehicle had struck the center divider, according to Capt. Jack Crabtree of the Long Beach Fire Department.<\/p>\n
Video from the scene showed firefighters dousing a crumpled, flaming sedan that appeared to have slammed into the center divider of the Lakewood Boulevard tunnel under Long Beach Airport.<\/p>\n
Police said it was unknown whether speed, distracted driving, or impaired driving were contributing factors. The investigation was ongoing.<\/p>\n
