<\/p>\n SAN JOSE, Calif. \u2013 The University of San Francisco (4-1) prevailed in the series opener at San Jose State (2-3), returning to the win column with a 7-6 13-inning victory Friday afternoon at Excite Ballpark.

\n\tSan Francisco jumped out in front in the top of the second inning when Tyler Harries<\/a> recorded an RBI groundout, as Wyatt Davis<\/a> scored for the 1-0 advantage.
\n\tAfter San Jose State tied the game in the following frame, the green gold regained the lead with two runs in the sixth and seventh innings. TJ Rogers<\/a> led off the sixth inning with a solo home run to give the Dons a 2-1 lead, and Jayden Garrison’s<\/a> RBI double added an insurance run in the seventh.
\n\tLeading 3-2 in the top of the ninth inning, two more runs came across for the green and gold, building the lead to 5-2. With the bases loaded and two outs on the board, Brendan Burke<\/a> slipped a single through the right side of the infield, scoring Rogers and Garrison.
\n\tThe Spartans tied the game in the last half of the ninth, scoring three runs to even the game at five.
\n\tFollowing three scoreless extra innings, San Francisco regained the lead in the top of the 13th inning. Jordan Lewis<\/a> put the Dons in front, scoring from third base on a wild pitch, and Davis added a sacrifice fly for a 7-5 advantage.
\n\tDespite the Spartans cutting their deficit to one in the bottom of the 13th, Nick Bacura<\/a> recorded two strikeouts as the green and gold survived with the 7-6 victory.

\n\tBurke guided the green and gold offensively, going four-for-seven at the plate and recording a game-high two RBI.
\n\tRogers recorded his first home run of the season, a solo shot over the left-field wall, in the sixth inning. Overall, Rogers totaled two hits in six at-bats and scored two runs.
\n\tGabriel Barrett<\/a> earned his second start on the mound this season as he pitched six innings, allowing one run on eight hits and striking out five batters.
\n\tKai Yovanovich<\/a> earned his second career, pitching four innings and allowing one run, three walks, and fanning five batters.
\n\tBacura closed the door on the Spartans in the bottom of the 13th inning, allowing just one baserunner and striking out two for his second save of the season.
