\t\t\tOBITUARY\t\t<\/p>\n
Kristina Kelly Cunningham, a loving mother, grandmother, community advocate, and longtime San Jose resident, passed away on February 8, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. <\/p>\n
Born in San Jose on December 5, 1949, Kristina was the daughter of Eileen and Gene Kelly. Kristina lived in Haiti in the late 1950s while her father served with the U.S. Foreign Service, before the family returned and settled in Willow Glen. Kristina was a graduate of Presentation High School, where she served as Student Body President. Kristina then attended San Jose State, where she earned a B.A. degree in Political Science and also met her future husband, Gary. They married & raised three sons, Kevin, Kelly, and Patrick, who were the joys of her life. <\/p>\n
As an active community leader, Kristina served on the Board of Directors for the Willow Glen Neighborhood Association and later pursued public service in local government. Her work included serving as Chief of Staff for Supervisor Blanca Alvarado and as Chief Deputy Public Guardian for the County of Santa Clara. <\/p>\n
Kristina is survived by her sons; her daughter-in-law, Shannon; her granddaughters, Jaylin and Ashley; her sisters, Sharon Grover (Bob), Theresa Warren (Chris), and Kathleen Puffer (Steve); and her brother, Gene Kelly. Kristina will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched with her kind spirit and loving heart. <\/p>\n
