Roll the dice and join the fun when the California State Railroad Museum and Foundation present \u201cGame Night at the Museum\u201d on Thursday evening, February 26, 2026. First introduced in 2025 and back by popular demand, the special event takes place after hours from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Open to gamers 18+, \u201cGame Night at the Museum\u201d includes games provided by Sacramento\u2019s Galaxy Game Caf\u00e9, Mario Kart, and Super Smash Bros, a bar hosted by the Acheson Wine Company, and vinyl spins from Sacramento\u2019s own King of Jazz, Will \u201cThe Maestro\u201d Evans Jr.<\/p>\n
A variety of popular and retro games of skill or chance will include dice and card games, plus other tabletop games that cross an array of genres and number of players. Alongside open-play tables where guests enjoy their own games, the Museum will offer dedicated spaces for solo challenges, quick activities, and casual pick-up matches of familiar classics for a number of players.<\/p>\n
Game Night activities will take place in the Museum\u2019s spacious Roundhouse area while surrounded by impressive historic locomotives, exhibits, and rail-related artifacts. And, gamers looking for a competitive, high-energy experience can test their skills in a Smash Tournament. Semi-finalists will win free admission to the next Game Night, and the winner will be awarded two first-class excursion train tickets (date\/time of winner\u2019s choosing, based on availability).<\/p>\n
For those interested in lively game play, camaraderie, and an opportunity to win prizes during \u201cGame Night at the Museum,\u201d a donation of $10 per attendee is appreciated. Alcoholic (for guests 21+) and non-alcoholic beverages and snacks are available for purchase. Members who purchase event tickets will each receive one alcoholic drink token or one non-alcoholic drink and snack token.<\/p>\n
