SACRAMENTO, Calif.\u00a0\u2014 Sacramento Republic FC announced on Saturday the club had signed midfielder Jose \u201cMemo\u201d Rodriguez ahead of the 2026 USL Championship season. The transaction is pending league and federation approval and\u00a0per club policy, the terms of the contract were not disclosed.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Rodriguez joins Republic FC having spent the past two seasons with Sporting Kansas City of Major League Soccer. The 30-year-old has recorded 202 appearances in MLS over his career, recording 20 goals and 21 assists since his debut for Houston Dynamo FC in 2017.<\/p>\n

Rodriguez\u2019s path to the pros began with the Houston Dynamo Academy in 2011. With 18 goals in 83 total appearances, he became a two-time Dynamo Academy Player of the Year before signing a Homegrown Player deal with the Dynamo ahead of the 2015 season. He spent his first two seasons with Dynamo affiliates Charleston Battery and Rio Grande Valley before returning to Houston in 2017.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
From there, Rodriguez became a mainstay in the Dynamo lineup and etched his name into club history, becoming the homegrown player with the most all-time appearances. In six seasons and 147 appearances across all competitions \u2013 including MLS, U.S. Open Cup, Leagues Cup and Concacaf Champions League \u2013 he recorded 21 goals and 10 assists. In 2018, he added three goals and one assist to help the Dynamo win its first Open Cup.<\/p>\n
