Well, that was a great way to end the tournament<\/a>. Huge congratulations to Team USA. Before the Anaheim Ducks get back into NHL action though, let’s take a moment and look back at how well the Ducks contingent did in the men’s hockey tournament with the final edition of the 2026 Anaheim Ducks\/Winter Olympics power rankings. <\/p>\n

Post-Olympics power rankings5) Jackson LaCombe<\/p>\n

Yes, he did win a gold medal, but LaCombe never saw the ice, which was unfortunate for Anaheim fans. Thankfully, the US did not sustain any injuries on the blue line, but that also made LaCombe’s participation in the games a non-factor. However, by being selected this year, LaCombe should be in the running again for the 2030 USA team. <\/p>\n

4) Damian Clara<\/p>\n

The Ducks prospect made a statement in the opening game of the tournament<\/a> and never gave up, despite being the underdog in every game with Team Italy. Clara finished the Olympics facing the third most shots with 146. Even though his goals against average was not flattering, at 5.13, that was more of a byproduct of the team playing defense in front of him. Clara did finish with a save percentage of .911 though, which was better than some everyday NHL starters. With some more development time, the Ducks may have found a more suitable backup for Lukas Dostal. <\/p>\n

3) Lukas Dostal<\/p>\n

Dostal did not have the best of performances at the Olympics, just by looking at the base numbers. Dostal finished the tournament with a .886 save percentage and a 3.72 goals against average. However, Dostal had his best outing in net during the quarter final round, making 37 saves with a .902 save percentage. If he had stopped that Mitch Marner backhand shot in overtime, Czechia could have pulled off the upset against Team Canada. <\/p>\n

2) Radko Gudas<\/p>\n

As the captain of the Ducks and alternate captain for Czechia, Gudas had a lackluster performance offensively, only registering one assist with nine shots in five games. However, Gudas made an impact in one of the most controversial moments in the quarter final game against Canada<\/a>, by knocking Sidney Crosby out of the tournament, and making USA’s path to gold, a little bit easier. Prior to the tournament beginning, we discussed the possibility of Gudas delivering a big hit to change the momentum of a game<\/a>; we just never thought that kind of play would change the course of the entire tournament. <\/p>\n

1) Mikael Granlund <\/p>\n

With all due respect to LaCombe and his gold medal, Granlund takes top honors for this year’s Winter Olympics. As the captain for Team Finland, Granlund had three points (two goals, one assist) and averaged 17:16 in ice time, while skating primarily on the second line. Even though Granlund did not register a point in the bronze medal game against Team Slovakia, he at least contributed to Finland’s overall performance in the tournament and was able to bring a medal home, making a former Ducks Alumni proud. <\/p>\n

The 2026 Winter Olympics were a wild ride and the men’s hockey tournament was better than anticipated. After watching the Ducks flounder for years and not competing in the postseason, having games to be invested in, was a nice change of pace. The Anaheim Ducks resume their regular season on Wednesday against the Edmonton Oilers. See you on the other side. <\/p>\n
