<\/p>\n ROCHESTER, Mich. \u2014 Oakland (15-14, 11-7 HL) broke a four-game losing streak after\u00a0securing an 81-70 victory over the Milwaukee Panthers (11-19, 7-12 HL at the OU Credit Union O’rena on Sunday. Oakland’s defense played a crucial role, forcing 15 turnovers and converting them into 18 points. The game featured seven ties and 16 lead changes, but Oakland maintained control in the second half by scoring 40 points to seal the win.<\/p>\n Fifth-year Tuburu Naivalurua<\/a> scored 23 points and collected nine boards, leading the team’s effort as senior Brody Robinson<\/a> added 20 points and dished out nine assists, contributing significantly from the perimeter with four 3-pointers. Senior Ziare Wells<\/a> scored 13 points and recorded two steals on defense. Fifth-year\u00a0Brett White II<\/a> made an impact back in the line-up defensively with three blocks and four steals.<\/p>\n The game commenced with a dynamic start for Oakland, as junior Isaac Garrett<\/a> dunked in the opening seconds, assisted by fifth-year Michael Houge<\/a>. Oakland maintained a strong presence in the paint, scoring 22 points, and effectively utilized its bench, contributing 19 points. Key momentum came from Wells, who netted a three-pointer at 6:40 and followed up with a fast-break dunk, establishing a solid lead and the crowd.\u00a0<\/p>\n Oakland’s defense played a critical role, recording four steals and three blocks, while limiting turnovers to just one, an effort that helped Oakland finish the half leading the Panthers by seven.<\/p>\n Oakland regained momentum in the second half with a key scoring stretch, highlighted by Robinson’s wide-open three at 6:34, which pushed it ahead. Naivalurua contributed significantly, scoring a layup and assisting on a fast-break basket to bolster the lead. Despite the Panthers’ attempts to close the gap, Oakland maintained control and finished the half ahead, 81-70.<\/p>\n Oakland will travel to face IU Indy on Wednesday, Feb. 25 for their final road game of the regular season.
