(KOLO) &#8211; On Sunday, Feb. 22, the California Democratic Party voted to officially endorse <a href=\"https:\/\/www.votemikemcguire.com\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.votemikemcguire.com\/\">State Sen. Mike McGuire<\/a> for Congress in the First Congressional District, which includes Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Shasta, Siskiyou, Sutter, and Tehama counties and most of Yuba County. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cThe highest calling in my life is to help others &#8211; to fight for those who can\u2019t fight for themselves,\u201d McGuire said. \u201cI\u2019ll go to the mat every day to make life more affordable, to grow our economy, to protect your healthcare, and to stand up to Donald Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">In the district, McGuire is the only candidate with the Democratic Party\u2019s endorsement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWhen California Democrats stand together and deliver for working families and rural communities, we win,\u201d McGuire said. \u201cWe defeated Donald Trump when we passed Prop 50 (redistricting). We defeated Donald Trump in court over and over. And this November, California Democrats, standing together, are going to finally Flip The First Congressional District\u201d from Republican to Democrat.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">In addition to the California Democratic Party, dozens of national, state, local officials, unions, and organizations, Gov. Gavin Newsom, Se. Adam Schiff, Sen. Alex Padilla, Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, Rep. Mike Thompson, Rep.
