SACRAMENTO, Calif. \u2013 The Saint Joseph’s baseball team closed out its trip to the West Coast on Sunday, falling to Sacramento State by a 21-2 score.

\nHOW IT HAPPENED
\n\u2022 The hosts took the lead with a three-spot in the bottom of the first, but Saint Joseph’s (2-5) answered with two in the second.\u00a0 Blake Primrose<\/a> and Carson Applegate<\/a> started off the inning with singles before Richard Beggy<\/a> ripped a double down the left field line to score both runners and make it a 3-2 game.
\n\u00a0
\n\u2022 Unfortunately for the Crimson and Gray, Sacramento State (3-4) hung five on the board in the bottom of the frame before adding seven more over the next three innings.
\n\u00a0
\n\u2022 The Hawks would put runners on base in each of the final four innings but could not push a run across.\u00a0 The Hornets set the final scoreline with a six-run eighth.

\nBEHIND THE BOX SCORE
\n\u2022 Timothy Carson started for Sacramento State and took a no decision after allowing two runs on four hits in four innings.\u00a0 Jackson Halverson tossed a perfect inning to be credited with the win, while Luke Parise<\/a> took the loss.
\n\u00a0
\n\u2022 Primrose collected a pair of hits while Beggy reached base twice in the game for the Hawks.

\n\u2022 Ryan Price<\/a> made his collegiate debut for the Hawks, reaching base on a hit by pitch. Augie Maslo<\/a> recorded his first career hit in the game as well.
