<\/p>\n(FOX40.COM) \u2014\u00a0A Sacramento woman who is vacationing in Mexico is recalling the chaos that has erupted in Puerto Vallarta after the Mexican army killed the leader of the\u00a0Jalisco New Generation Cartel.<\/p>\n
Following the death of Nemesio Rub\u00e9n Oseguera Cervantes, \u201cEl Mencho,\u201d on Sunday, cars were burned by cartel members, blocking roads\u00a0at more than 250 points in 20 Mexican states, according to authorities.<\/p>\n
Kitty Sinatro, a Sacramento woman vacationing in Puerto Vallarta for a birthday party, spoke to FOX40 Monday morning and said chaos erupted while she and her husband were at a restaurant.<\/p>\n
They noticed there were fires scattered across their area before ordering breakfast at the restaurant.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe sat down\u2013we ordered breakfast and within\u2013I\u2019d say seven minutes\u2013they just started shutting everything. Pulling down\u2013these almost like barricades\u2013 the door, everything,\u201d Sinatro said. \u201cAs we were locked in there, they told us what was happening and we couldn\u2019t leave. And we just heard what sounded like explosions\u2013 like a boom\u2013boom. After, I\u2019d say another hour or so we just heard helicopters\u2013 we just kept hearing helicopters.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sinatro said the waiters advised them that they could not leave as they could get shot. Hours later, they were told they had to leave before sunset. Sinatro and her husband were escorted to the back door of the restaurant to return to their hotel.<\/p>\n
\u201d I never ran so fast in my life,\u201d Sinatro said.<\/p>\n

She said the roads were empty as her and her husband ran back to their hotel. Their flight has been canceled, however, they were told there would be attempts to rebook them. Taxis, Uber\u2019s and buses are currently unavailable for method of transportation, Sinatro said.<\/p>\n
According to Sinatro, Monday is looking better for tourists.<\/p>\n
\u201cToday is definitely much better than yesterday. There are actually people that are now walking a little bit out by the pool, which yesterday no one was allowed outside at all,\u201d Sinatro said. \u201cAnd one grocery store is open. We tried to get water there, but the line was\u2013no kidding\u2013about a mile long. So were just waiting and hoping that line ceases, but right now we\u2019re all kind of on edge,\u201d she said<\/p>\n
