A man who was assaulted and robbed in San Francisco has died from his injuries, police said Monday, and a suspect now faces a homicide charge.<\/p>\n

The attack was reported Feb. 5 near Bush and Taylor streets, in the Lower Nob Hill neighborhood. The victim was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries; he died on Thursday, Feb. 19.<\/p>\n

Earlier on Feb. 19, the suspect was taken into custody, police said. The 34-year-old man was arrested near Leavenworth and Eddy streets, in the Tenderloin, and booked on suspicion of aggravated assault, robbery, possession of narcotics paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. There was also an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of San Mateo County, police said.<\/p>\n

After the victim died, the charges were amended to include homicide.<\/p>\n
