These screenings offer residents a friendly and welcoming way to gather while supporting the town\u2019s historic Los Gatos theater. Doors open at 9:30 a.m., and everyone is welcome. The movie series also supports the broader mission of Los Gatos Thrives: building a new multigenerational community center where residents of all ages can meet, learn, socialize and belong. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.losgatosthrives.org\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">www.losgatosthrives.org<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Students at Los Gatos High School have already stepped up. They\u2019ve formed an LG Thrives club to help champion the project, and their vision is refreshingly inclusive. \u201cWe don\u2019t want a teen\u2011only space,\u201d says club president Tanner Goulden. \u201cWe want to be able to interact with people of different ages, at different stages of life. It\u2019s all about community and bridging gaps that aren\u2019t bridged now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Goulden says he started the club because he wants to see the community center succeed. \u201cIt takes a lot of community involvement to get a large project like this off the ground. It\u2019s been kind of great to go from not knowing much about how the town functions to meeting and working with a lot of the people that make the town what it is. Residents can commemorate a special event, honor a friend or family member, or memorialize someone dear by purchasing a personalized brick. The bricks are placed prominently in front of the clubhouse.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur family bought bricks memorializing my late husband Joseph Melehan and his brother, John Melehan, both raised in Los Gatos since 1950,\u201d Celeste Martin Melehan said. \u201cHaving their names in front of the club, which has been there over 125 years, was a fitting location for their recognition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The clubhouse is available for private rentals, offering a setting for weddings, anniversaries, business meetings and community gatherings.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.historyclublosgatos.org\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> www.historyclublosgatos.org<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, March 7, the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Foundation hosts its black\u2011tie Fundraiser Ball at Testarossa Winery. The event has sold out each year, drawing town leaders and longtime supporters for an elegant evening benefiting public safety programs. Foundation president Johnathan Knowles says the 2026 event is poised to build on last year\u2019s success. \u201cOur mission is supporting our community by providing funding for public safety tools and educational outreach,\u201d he notes, adding that he expects this year\u2019s fundraising to surpass previous totals. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lgmspolicefoundation.org\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">www.lgmspolicefoundation.org<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Los Gatos Rotary will host a community blood drive on Saturday, March 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Luke\u2019s Episcopal Church, 20 University Ave. Donors will be entered for a chance to win two club\u2011suite tickets to the April 9 Warriors vs. Lakers game, and each registered donor receives a $20 e\u2011card. Appointments can be made at <a href=\"http:\/\/sbcdonor.org\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">sbcdonor.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce hosts its 2026 Gala, \u201cShine Among the Stars,\u201d on Saturday, March 28, 5-8:30 p.m. at Nestldown. This elegant evening celebrates the people and businesses that make Los Gatos exceptional, with awards including Business of the Year, New or Emerging Business of the Year, Community Impact Award, Nonprofit of the Year and Los Gatan of the Year. Nominations are open, and all tickets include shuttle service from central Los Gatos. On Tuesday, March 17, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., the venue will host a full\u2011day St. Patrick\u2019s Day celebration featuring \u201cBodacious BBQ,\u201d four full\u2011service bars, live music from more than five bands, and plenty of Irish spirit.
