Twin Rivers Unified labor union plans to go on strike, the first time in district’s history<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\t\t\t\tFor the first time in the district’s history, the labor union representing Twin Rivers Unified School District teachers and staff plans to strike.Twin Rivers United Educators (TRUE) will make the official announcement to strike at a rally outside of the school district’s board meeting, according to a news release. That rally is set to take place at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at 5115 Dudley Blvd.”TRUE remains fully committed to the impasse process and hopes the March 2 fact-finder report yields a fair contract,” a news release read. “However, our community deserves advance notice of a strike should TRUSD fail to prioritize our students.”The union represents about 1,500 teachers, psychologists, speech therapists, counselors, nurses, librarians, student learning coaches, student support teachers, visual and performing arts educators, teachers on special assignment, social workers and program specialists.KCRA 3 has reached out to Twin Rivers Unified for comment.
