All-Time Olympians from The Big West >>><\/a>\u00a0|\u00a0Complete 2-woman bobsled results >>><\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n Former Long Beach State track and field standout\u00a0and Big West sprints champion\u00a0Azaria Hill finished in fifth with pilot Kaysha Love in the\u00a0two-woman bobsled competition from the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics\u00a0just before the Games\u00a0came to a close\u00a0on Sunday.\u00a0<\/p>\n Hill and Love slid into sixth place after Thursday\u2019s first\u00a0run\u00a0where the duo reached a top speed of 79.8 miles per\u00a0hour, and\u00a0edged up to fifth after the second. In Friday\u2019s final two runs\u00a0from the Cordina Sliding Center, Hill and Love held firm to fifth closing with a combined time of 3:49.71, 1.25 seconds back from the gold\u00a0medalists\u00a0and wire-to-wire winners\u00a0from Germany, Laura\u00a0Nolte\u00a0and Deborah Levi.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Germans Lisa\u00a0Buckwitz\u00a0and Neele\u00a0Schuten\u00a0secured the silver with Team USA pairing Kaillie Armbruster Humphries and Jasmine Jones taking home the bronze. Hill and Love were just half a second back from their medal-winning teammates.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Team USA is the only country to hold the distinction of winning an Olympic medal in\u00a0two-woman\u00a0bobsled at every Games since the event was introduced to the Olympic roster in 2002. This marks the United States\u2019 seventh consecutive Olympic medal in the discipline.\u00a0<\/p>\n Hill and Love\u2019s connection\u00a0goes\u00a0back to college as the two were on the same track & field squad at UNLV after Hill transferred to the Rebels for a final season after the COVID-19 pause.\u00a02026 was\u00a0a first\u00a0Olympic appearance for Hill and Love\u2019s second, but first as a pilot.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Hill joins a list of four other Big West Olympic bobsledders and the first since 2014. The five\u00a0represent\u00a0four schools (Long Beach State, UC Davis, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara) with two fellow Big West sledders coming to the sport after collegiate track and field careers.\u00a0The daughter of Olympians Denean Howard-Hill (track and field, 1984 – gold, \u201988 – silver, \u201992 – silver) and Virgil Hill Sr. (boxing, 1984 – silver), Azaria continues a family legacy\u00a0by\u00a0representing\u00a0Team USA in competition.\u00a0\u00a0
