For Immediate Release Measure would reduce California\u2019s high cost of living by cutting red tape and building housing and other essential projects faster and more affordably<\/p>\n (February 24, 2026) Sacramento, CA\u2014Today, Assemblymember Buffy Wicks (D-14) announced her support for the Building an Affordable California Act (Affordable CA)<\/a> as part of her keynote speech at Capitol Weekly\u2019s Conference on Housing.<\/p>\n Wicks is considered one of the Legislature\u2019s leading champions of policies designed to solve California\u2019s housing supply and affordability crisis, having served as the Chair of the Assembly Housing Committee.<\/p>\n \u201cI support the Chamber\u2019s ballot measure.
