Elijah Rucker<\/a> was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. That’s the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalen Thomas<\/a>, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.<\/p>\n

Oakland Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Washington only posted an OBP of .381.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Albany had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn’t the start they were hoping for. They fell 6-2 to San Rafael. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they’ve now lost three in a row.<\/p>\n

Albany handed starting duties to Drake Barrett<\/a>, who gave a strong showing despite the result: he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero earned runs gave Barrett a new career-low.<\/p>\n

On the hitting side, Albany saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dexter Johnson<\/a>, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.<\/p>\n
