OAKLAND \u2014 A 61-year-old man who had just left an East Oakland store was shot Wednesday night, authorities said.<\/p>\n
The man, an Oakland resident, was in stable condition at a hospital where he is being treated for a wound to his foot, authorities said.<\/p>\n
The shooting, which caused an activation of a gunshot detection system, happened about 10:47 p.m. Wednesday in the 7000 block of International Boulevard.<\/p>\n
The man told police he had just left a store in the area and was walking to his vehicle when he heard gunfire and realized he had been shot.\u00a0 He was able to drive himself to a hospital.<\/p>\n
According to initial reports,\u00a0 the shots were apparently fired during a dispute between some other people in the area.\u00a0 More than 10 shots were fired and police believe at this time the 61-year-old man was not an intended target.<\/p>\n
No other injuries were reported.<\/p>\n
What the dispute involving the other people was about is not known.\u00a0 No arrests have been made.<\/p>\n
