A house fire on the 5000 block of E. Huntington Avenue was reported Tuesday afternoon after neighbors called emergency services around 2:20 p.m., reporting explosions and cries for help, the Fresno Fire Department reported.<\/p>\n
Firefighters arriving at the single-story residence found heavy smoke and quickly initiated suppression efforts. Crews also discovered one person who had been pulled from the home and was in distress.<\/p>\n
Firefighters provided medical aid before the individual was transported to a local hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation, the agency said.<\/p>\n
Their condition was not immediately known.<\/p>\n
The fire was contained to a portion of the home, though smoke damage extended throughout the structure, officials said.<\/p>\n
A total of 26 firefighters responded to the incident and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.<\/p>\n
