Over its century-long lifetime, the bandshell has hosted numerous live performances in <a href=\"https:\/\/secretsanfrancisco.com\/golden-gate-park-unique-activities\/\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" target=\"_self\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/secretsanfrancisco.com\/golden-gate-park-unique-activities\/\" data-action=\"text_cta_0\" data-category=\"click_internal\">Golden Gate Park.<\/a> In recent history, the Bandshell has hosted free weekly concerts in March through November, featuring local musicians. Check out the full <a href=\"https:\/\/ttps:\/\/secretsanfrancisco.com\/golden-gate-park-concert-lineup\/\" rel=\"follow nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/ttps:\/\/secretsanfrancisco.com\/golden-gate-park-concert-lineup\/\" data-action=\"text_cta_1\" data-category=\"click_non_sales\">schedule and lineup for March here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The concert series, called Illuminate LIVE, will return for its sixth rendition starting <a href=\"https:\/\/secretsanfrancisco.com\/things-to-do-this-weekend-sf\/\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" target=\"_self\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/secretsanfrancisco.com\/things-to-do-this-weekend-sf\/\" data-action=\"text_cta_2\" data-category=\"click_internal\">this weekend<\/a>, on Sunday, March 1. There are over 125 free concerts scheduled between <a href=\"https:\/\/secretsanfrancisco.com\/things-to-do-march\/\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" target=\"_self\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/secretsanfrancisco.com\/things-to-do-march\/\" data-action=\"text_cta_3\" data-category=\"click_internal\">March<\/a> and November, so you\u2019ll have plenty of chances to catch a show at the bandshell in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGolden Gate Park has been a stage for San Francisco\u2019s soundtrack for more than 150 years,\u201d said Sarah Madland, Interim General Manager of the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department, <a href=\"https:\/\/sfrecpark.org\/m\/newsflash\/home\/detail\/2736\" rel=\" noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/sfrecpark.org\/m\/newsflash\/home\/detail\/2736\" data-action=\"text_cta_4\" data-category=\"click_non_sales\">in a recent statement<\/a>. \u201cFrom the first live performance in 1882 to today, free concerts in the park have brought generations together. There is something uniquely powerful about hearing live music surrounded by nature and community. On Wednesdays, you can expect Midweek Melodies, or end your work with Friday Happy Hour performances. Finally, don\u2019t miss Crucial Reggae Sundays with resident DJs Irie Dole, Guid8nce, and DJ Sep. Illuminate is an arts non-profit in San Francisco that regularly facilitates public art installations and community events.
