He was 79. <\/p>\n<p>News of Robison\u2019s passing was confirmed by a San Francisco Symphony spokesperson. A cause of death was been given. Robison had been in a long period of recovery from a spinal cord injury after suffering a fall at home last August. <\/p>\n<p>Robison, full of energy and quick with a smile, was a constant presence at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kqed.org\/arts\/tag\/san-francisco-symphony\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">San Francisco Symphony<\/a>, and at civic and arts events in and around San Francisco. (Courtesy San Francisco Symphony)<\/p>\n<p>While Thomas was the music director and public face of the San Francisco Symphony from 1995\u20132020, \u201cJoshua was the steady and indispensable force behind the scenes who helped make it all work,\u201d said the Symphony\u2019s board chair Priscilla Geeslin.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTheir partnership was extraordinary: Michael\u2019s expansive artistic vision paired with Joshua\u2019s insight, advocacy, and unwavering dedication.
