ATHENS, GA.—–Eighth-ranked Georgia begins a four-game series with Oakland Friday at Foley Field. First pitch will be at 3:02 p.m. and be available on SECN+ and the Georgia Bulldog Sports Network.<\/p>\n
The Bulldogs have never faced the Grizzlies who hail from Rochester, Mich., and compete in the Horizon League. In the national polls this week, Georgia is ranked as high as No. 8 (Baseball America). The Bulldogs (6-2) went 4-0 last week including a three-game sweep of Samford, outscoring the Bulldogs from Alabama 45-5. This past Tuesday, Troy outlasted Georgia here 6-5 in 12 innings. Georgia left a season-high 16 men on base in the loss and had two on and nobody out in the 9th, two on and one out in the 10th and the bases loaded and one out in the 11th but failed to deliver a game-winner. The Trojans winning run scored on a two-out, bases-loaded wild pitch. The game lasted 4:33. Oakland went 1-2 at Lamar and then was swept in a four-game series at Southern Indiana this past weekend. The Golden Grizzlies visit Tennessee and Texas A&M after facing Georgia.

\n*Junior third baseman\u00a0Tre Phelps<\/a>\u00a0(.500-3-9) has hit safely in every game this year and 22 straight dating to the 2025 season. Also, he’s been hit a team-high eight times. Against Troy, he was 2-for-5 with a two-out, two-run game-tying double in the 8th.
\n*Sophomore INF\/OF\u00a0Henry Allen<\/a>\u00a0(.500-3-12) posted a monster week, batting .538 (7-for-13) with a 1.231 SLG%, seven runs scored, three doubles, three walks, two home runs and 11 RBI. Against Troy, he was 2-for-4 with two walks.
