From the lingering effects of the Hollywood strikes to rising costs (labor, rent, ingredients, etc.), many factors continue to strain restaurant owners operating on razor-thin margins. Los Angeles restaurants also <a href=\"https:\/\/la.eater.com\/2025\/1\/17\/24346323\/los-angeles-restaurants-struggling-wildfires-chefs-2025\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">continue to struggle with the impact of the 2025 fires<\/a>, including slow business and devastating property loss, as well as the ongoing effects of ICE enforcement. The Chinatown location remains open with its honey walnut shrimp katsu, egg salad sando, and a menchi katsu burger.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\">KnowRealityPie \u2014 Eagle Rock pie shop <a href=\"https:\/\/la.eater.com\/2016\/12\/15\/13975726\/know-reality-pie-eagle-rock-pie-maven\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">KnowRealityPie<\/a> permanently closed in mid-February. Founded by Tracy Ann DeVore and Kelly Deco in 2014, the pie shop went on to win KCRW\u2019s Pie Contest 11 times, and gained a cult-following for flavors like banana rum dulce de leche and salted caramel mango guava rum.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph n2hx75i _1knl15h1 _1knl15h0 cej01i1\">MidEast Tacos \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/la.eater.com\/venue\/28991\/mini-kabob\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mini Kabob<\/a> chef Armen Martirosyan\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/la.eater.com\/venue\/103318\/mideast-tacos\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MidEast Tacos<\/a> temporarily closed its Silver Lake and Glendale takeout-only location.
