When the classroom is Honda Center and the teachers are Anaheim Ducks<\/a>, the lessons are a whole lot cooler.<\/p>\n

The hockey team hosted its largest S.C.O.R.E. event of the year on Thursday, Feb. 26, team officials said, bringing nearly 7,000 elementary students from area schools to Honda Center for a morning of science learning.<\/p>\n

The First Flight Field Trip is a popular event hosted by the team\u2019s S.C.O.R.E. program, which stands for Scholastic Curriculum of Recreation & Education. S.C.O.R.E. also hosts reading programs, helps build street hockey facilities at schools<\/a> and takes lessons to school assemblies.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, students watched practice on the ice featuring Ducks players, who then led demonstrations of the properties of electricity and circuitry.
