<\/p>\n SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. \u2013 The University of San Francisco baseball team (5-3) dropped a 16-2 nonconference decision to California Baptist (8-2) in the series opener Thursday afternoon at Benedetti Diamond.

\n\tTrailing 7-0, San Francisco scored its first run of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning as Eddison Esquivel<\/a> came across to score on a Wyatt Davis<\/a> double.
\n\tAfter California Baptist added a run in the following frame, TJ Rogers<\/a> recorded a solo home run off the left-field netting to get the green and gold within 8-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning.
\n\tThe Lancers scored eight unanswered runs in the seventh and eighth innings to solidify the 16-2 victory.\u00a0

\n\tSan Francisco pitchers faced 53 hitters in the game, allowing eight ground balls and nine fly balls while striking out six.
\n\tRogers led the Dons at the plate, going one-for-three with a home run, his third of the season.
\n\tDavis recorded an RBI with a double in the fourth inning. He is currently tied for the team lead in RBI with seven through eight games.\u00a0
