Public Storage, which got its start in El Cajon in 1972, has announced it is leaving California and moving its corporate headquarters from Glendale to Frisco, Texas.<\/p>\n
This is the latest in a series of corporate relocations from California to Texas, including SpaceX, Tesla and Chevron.<\/p>\n
Public Storage operates thousands of self-storage units across the country.<\/p>\n
When the first location opened in San Diego’s East County, the two owners had a fiesta, according to the company’s website, “complete with mariachis and bright orange doors to attract the attention of potential customers driving by on the nearby highway.”<\/p>\n
The company says the move to the Dallas-Fort Worth area is part of a broader restructuring, and will “maintain a long-term presence in Glendale.” <\/p>\n
