\t\t\tOBITUARY\t\t<\/p>\n
Donald Harry Foster passed away Saturday, February 14, 2026. He was a compassionate, adventurous man with a witty sense of humor and an unwavering commitment to his family, friends and church community.<\/p>\n
Born in Alameda, CA, on January 20, 1947, to Charles Edward Foster and Dorothy Helen Cranston Foster, he grew up in San Leandro and attended the University of California, Davis where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in mathematics. Recruited to IBM in San Jose, he programmed mainframe computers and served in the Army reserves in Monterey and San Francisco.<\/p>\n
He was previously married to Carolyn Johnson Foster and they had daughters Carrie Elizabeth Moutzouridis and Alexa Lynn Foster. He was a devoted grandfather to P.J., Anna, and Alex Moutzouridis and to Bella and Momo Martinez. A concert pianist, organist, and singer, he brought his musical gifts to the Stone Church of Willow Glen and the San Jose Symphonic Choir. He retired from IBM after 46 years in 2014.<\/p>\n
A memorial service will be held at the Stone Church of Willow Glen, 1937 Lincoln Avenue, San Jose on March 28, 2026 at 2:00 PM.
