A family remains shaken after a man broke into their apartment in Los Angeles while they were sleeping inside.<\/p>\n

Surveillance cameras captured the suspect lurking around an apartment complex in Leimert Park around 3 a.m. on Feb. 24.<\/p>\n

He eventually finds an open window at Pazz Johnson\u2019s apartment and climbs his way inside.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe came to the window, pulled the screen off, lifted up the window, climbed over my couch and he was walking around,\u201d she told KTLA\u2019s Rick Chambers. \u201cI don\u2019t know what he was doing, but it\u2019s frightening.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pazz said her family sometimes leaves the window slightly open for airflow and that her daughter likes to sleep on the couch that the man was seen climbing over.<\/p>\n

Surveillance footage showed the intruder walking around the home for a few minutes before leaving. The family said he did not appear to steal anything.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe took my remote controls and spread them on the couch,\u201d said victim Gregory Johnson. \u201cHe walked from the couch over to the TV and then unlocked the door and walked out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pazz said they were only awoken by the sound of the suspect unlatching the deadbolt lock on her front door as he left.<\/p>\n

With two young children at home, Pazz said the incident was beyond frightening. Her neighbors echoed the sentiment.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat really scares me,\u201d said neighbor Sylva Cox. \u201cThe fact that he just came in and left. It\u2019s so weird.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Johnson family has been notifying their neighbors of the break-in, telling them to lock their doors and keep an eye out in case he returns.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s definitely frightening and makes you rethink some things,\u201d Pazz said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know I won\u2019t leave the windows open anymore, that\u2019s guaranteed,\u201d Gregory said.<\/p>\n

The suspect appears to be a man in his 30s with a thick beard. The incident remains under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department.<\/p>\n

Anyone who recognizes the man or has information on the case is asked to call LAPD at 1-877-527-3247.<\/p>\n
