An unidentified woman was fatally hit while crossing Power Inn Road outside a crosswalk, according to CHP. The driver stayed and cooperated.<\/p>\n

SACRAMENTO, Calif. \u2014 A woman was killed Friday morning after being hit by a vehicle while crossing a South Sacramento roadway, according to the California Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n

The crash happened on northbound Power Inn Road, just south of Calvine Road.<\/p>\n

CHP officials said the pedestrian, an unidentified woman, was crossing Power Inn Road outside of a marked crosswalk when she was hit by a vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, providing a statement to officers.<\/p>\n

Northbound Power Inn Road south of Calvine Road was temporarily closed as authorities conducted their investigation. CHP said the roadway was expected to reopen within about 30 minutes.<\/p>\n

The woman\u2019s identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin. The investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n
