{"id":196916,"date":"2026-02-27T19:44:22","date_gmt":"2026-02-27T19:44:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/196916\/"},"modified":"2026-02-27T19:44:22","modified_gmt":"2026-02-27T19:44:22","slug":"newly-released-video-shows-shootout-involving-fresno-police-bullet-hit-officers-hat-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/196916\/","title":{"rendered":"Newly released video shows shootout involving Fresno police, bullet hit officer&#8217;s hat"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Fresno Police have now released bodycam footage of a shootout between officers and a suspect late last year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">EDITOR&#8217;S NOTE: The video above is from a previous broadcast and will be updated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The video was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=0ZvAdN7bu3Y&amp;feature=youtu.be\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:released on YouTube;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">released on YouTube<\/a> Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">WARNING: The YouTube video linked above contains profanity and may be difficult for some to watch.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">On December 7, police approached 41-year-old Bradley Nicholson, who they say was acting suspiciously in an alley near West and Clinton avenues.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">In the video, you can hear Nicholson saying &#8220;let me go&#8221; multiple times to officers during a struggle. He then shot at police.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The officer who approached Nicholson and another officer began firing back before the suspect barricaded himself in a nearby carport. Officers pleaded with Nicholson to drop his gun.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">He eventually surrendered at the scene after SWAT officers and negotiators arrived.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The officers involved were not hurt, but Deputy Chief Rob Beckwith said one of the bullets hit the ball cap one officer was wearing.
