{"id":196955,"date":"2026-02-27T20:07:14","date_gmt":"2026-02-27T20:07:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/196955\/"},"modified":"2026-02-27T20:07:14","modified_gmt":"2026-02-27T20:07:14","slug":"pedestrian-dies-in-crash-at-power-inn-and-calvine-roads","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/196955\/","title":{"rendered":"Pedestrian dies in crash at Power Inn and Calvine roads"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>                <img class=\"responsive-image\" width=\"1140\" height=\"641\"  alt=\"Pedestrian fatality\" title=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A pedestrian was struck and killed early Friday along a busy corridor in south Sacramento, according to authorities.<\/p>\n<p>Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District personnel and the California Highway Patrol responded about 5:45 a.m. to a crash and found a pedestrian lying in the northbound lanes of Power Inn Road between Calvine Road and Orchard Loop Lane near a gas station and a McDonald\u2019s, according to Officer Michael Harper, a spokesperson for the CHP\u2019s South Sacramento office.<\/p>\n<p>The pedestrian, described as a person in their 40s, was walking across the road outside the crosswalk whey they were struck by the vehicle.
