Photo by Sophia Rerucha.<\/p>\n<p>District 10 Supervisor Shamann Walton is teaming up with the San Francisco Municipal Transit Agency and the police department to crack down on scofflaw parkers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Bayview supe made the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/shamann.walton\/posts\/pfbid02nx7xaJr5mUtn923wF3fQEG2cNLS7QhhCrAP4ehxNASe7bapdhMDxegz9SoFGJfgil\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">announcement<\/a> on Feb. 6 via Facebook. There will be \u201cincreased parking enforcement in our area\u201d for driveway parking, curb\/sidewalk parking, and double parking, Walton wrote. Since Feb. 9, transit cops and police officers have been out patrolling.<\/p>\n<p>Street parking and double parking is most common on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/bayarea\/article\/Bayview-s-free-parking-zone-sidewalk-3791265.php\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Palou Avenue<\/a>. Photo by Mariana Garcia.<\/p>\n<p>For the first time since its inception in 2024, <a href=\"https:\/\/sfmusicweek.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">SF Music Week<\/a> is coming to Bayview.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Tantum Ra, a Congolese Afropop artist will perform on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/sf-sounds-presents-tantum-ra-a-live-concert-recording-late-show-tickets-1980147599775?aff=erelpanelorg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Feb. 27<\/a> at the Ruth Williams Opera House. R&amp;B sibling trio MeloDious will perform there on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/sf-sounds-presents-melodious-a-live-concert-recording-late-show-tickets-1980144629892?aff=ebdssbcitybrowse\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Feb. 28<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s silent disco meets Tiny Desk,\u201d said Theo Ellington, the interim executive director of the Opera House. Performers will play in the middle of the venue\u2019s floor, with attendees circling. Vocals and instruments will be connected to wireless headphones, delivering \u201cpristine sound\u201d to attendees, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/sf-sounds-presents-tantum-ra-a-live-concert-recording-late-show-tickets-1980147599775?aff=erelpanelorg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">event\u2019s webpage<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ellington specified that entry is donation-based, so pay what you can. Photo courtesy of Earl Shaddix. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/missionlocal.org\/2025\/07\/avenue-greenlight-offers-new-grants-for-s-f-community-organizations\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Avenue Greenlight<\/a>, a nonprofit that provides money to merchant organizations to support community projects along commercial corridors, began <a href=\"https:\/\/missionlocal.org\/2025\/05\/lurie-brings-in-former-rival-billionaire-donors-to-fund-street-cleaning-initiative\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">power washing<\/a> Bayview\u2019s Third Street corridor on Feb. 23. Usually, power washing is done by the city\u2019s Public Works department.<\/p>\n<p>The project is a collaboration between the mayor\u2019s office and Avenue Greenlight, initially funded by cryptocurrency billionaire <a href=\"https:\/\/missionlocal.org\/2024\/04\/chris-larsen-ripple-sec-xrp-torres-gensler\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chris Larsen<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Earl Shaddix, executive director of Economic Development on Third, a nonprofit that works to support businesses along the corridor, said merchants are very happy with the project so far.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"492\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/SF-Public-Library-Card-Feb-2026-768x1000-1-492x640.png\" alt=\"A stylized Star Trek insignia frames the Golden Gate Bridge, with a Starfleet ship flying above; city skyline and water are visible in the background.\" class=\"wp-image-836749\" style=\"aspect-ratio:0.7687509649529103;width:287px;height:auto\"  \/>The Star Trek library cards. As part of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.paramountplus.com\/sneak-peak\/star-trek-starfleet-academy-san-francisco\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Go Boldly SF<\/a>, last week\u2019s citywide celebration of Star Trek\u2019s 60th anniversary, the San Francisco Public Library is offering limited-edition Star Trek library cards.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The cards are a part of an official collaboration between the Star Trek franchise and the Library. Photo by Abigail Van Neely. <\/p>\n<p>On Feb. 28, as previously featured in Bayview Buzz, the <a href=\"https:\/\/sfbike.org\/event\/bayview-black-history-month-bike-ride\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Black History Month<\/a> bike ride will take place.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The ride will begin at 9 a.m. at the Martin Luther King Jr. Fountain in Yerba Buena Gardens.\u00a0 Then, along the route, riders will stop at landmarks like the Museum of the African Diaspora and statues of baseball greats Willie Mays and Toni Stone. The route will follow the city\u2019s eastern waterfront down to Bayview for a block party at Smoke Soul Kitchen.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/missionlocal.org\/author\/sophiar\/\" rel=\"author nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" data-perfmatters-preload=\"\" alt=\"A person with short dark hair and glasses smiles at the camera.
