Hundreds of demonstrators from Los Angeles\u2019s Iranian-American community took the streets Saturday to celebrate<\/a> the US-Israeli airstrikes that killed Iran\u2019s supreme leader.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to cry. I want to scream. I want to dance. I want to laugh \u2014 but above all, I just want to celebrate,\u201d said LA resident Shervin Khorramian, 55, waving an Iranian flag as he joined the elated crowd outside of the Wilshire Federal building in Westwood.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel absolutely elated, and I feel hopeful,\u201d Khorramian added. \u201cFor the first time in a long time, I feel hopeful that this really could be the turning point for Iran.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shekoofeh, who declined to give her last name out of fear for her family still living in Iran, said it all felt like a dream.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t believe it,\u201d she said, adding that she has been protesting in the US against the Iranian regime since 2006.<\/p>\n

Arash Behtahj, who still has family in the country, said he can \u201cfinally\u201d see freedom coming to Iran after 47 years. \u201cWe need to celebrate together,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had told my friends, even if we reduce his life by one day, that is good enough for me,\u201d Khorramian said. \u201cI wanted him to be kidnapped the way Maduro was and brought to justice here.\u201d<\/p>\n
