STOCKTON, Calif. –\u00a0The University of San Francisco (USF) men’s basketball team (16-15, 8-10 WCC)\u00a0got back to its winning ways on Saturday afternoon\u00a0as the Dons used an all-around effort to take down Pacific (17-14, 8-10 WCC), 72-61, at Alex G. Spanos Center in its\u00a0regular season finale.<\/p>\n
The Dons\u00a0had three players score in double figures, led by David Fuchs<\/a>, who finished with a game-high 29 points and team-high seven rebounds. Tyrone Riley IV<\/a> added 12 points, three steals, and two blocks while\u00a0Legend Smiley<\/a> helped out with 11 points, including three triples.<\/p>\n IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:<\/p>\n

\n\tBoth teams matched each other out of the gates, with the Dons narrowly leading the Tigers, 15-13, at the under-12 media timeout after a jumper from Ryan Beasley<\/a>. Each side continued to fight\u00a0a 23-23 tie, but San Francisco pieced together\u00a0a 6-0 run with 7:14 left in the first half, culminating in a three-pointer from Smiley, to take a 29-23 lead.
\n\tThe Dons then scored five of the final eight points of the period and\u00a0entered halftime with a 42-35 advantage. USF\u00a0capitalized on six Pacific turnovers in the opening half, turning them into 11 points on the other end of the floor.
\n\tComing out of the locker room, the Tigers closed the gap to three, 42-39, just 45 seconds into the second half, but San Francisco kept its lead intact in the minutes to follow. USF once again used momentum to grow its lead,\u00a0putting together another\u00a06-0 run, finished off by Junjie Wang’s<\/a> three, to go in front\u00a059-46 with 11:16 remaining in regulation. Pacific continued to show grit with each possession,\u00a0but the Dons would lead by at least 11 points for the final 9:36\u00a0to wrap up a\u00a072-61 victory. San Francisco shot well from three-point range in the second half, hitting five shots from distance\u00a0for\u00a015 of its 30 points in the period.

\n\tSan Francisco had a strong showing defensively, holding\u00a0the Tigers to only 40.0 percent (24-60) shooting from the field and 11.8 percent (2-17) from beyond the arc.
\n\tUSF never trailed in the second half on its way to victory.
\n\tThe green and gold\u00a0were active in affecting shots on the defensive end, tallying five blocks as a team, including a season-high three blocks from Guillermo Diaz Graham<\/a>.

\nSan Francisco awaits official seeding for the 2026 Credit Union 1 West Coast Conference Basketball Championship, which will be released on Sunday morning by the conference office. The Dons are projected to be the No. 5 seed and would\u00a0earn\u00a0a double bye into the third round. The first four rounds of the tournament will be streamed on ESPN+, featuring Roxy Bernstein and Dan Dickau, with the semifinals and finals\u00a0transitioning to ESPN\/ESPN2, featuring Dave Flemming and Sean Farnham.
