The\u00a0\u201cComeback Quacks\u201d\u00a0did it again on Friday with the Ducks\u00a0beating the Jets,\u00a05-4,\u00a0in overtime for their\u00a0NHL-leading\u00a0ninth multi-goal comeback this season.\u00a0The goal came courtesy of Chris Kreider\u00a0off an assist\u00a0from Beckett Sennecke\u00a0with just 15 seconds left in the extra period.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe just have that belief in ourselves that we’re never out of it,”\u00a0said Sennecke, who had\u00a0a career-high\u00a0three assists on the night. “That’s kind of the biggest thing in these comeback wins is we never think we’re out of it, and we know we can score goals.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt reminded me a lot of the last game, down two goals in the third period against a good team that needs points like we do,\u201d head coach Joel Quenneville said. \u201cThe comeback was great, they tied it up, and made a nice play at the end of the game. It was a thrilling game, the crowd\u2019s been great.\u201d<\/p>\n
The nine multi-goal comeback victories\u00a0tied\u00a0a single-season club record\u00a0for\u00a0Anaheim,\u00a0and the team has also\u00a0recorded consecutive multi-goal third period comeback wins for the second time in franchise history.<\/p>\n
While\u00a0these wins are thrilling,\u00a0Ducks players\u00a0know it\u2019s not entirely sustainable\u00a0and admitted they\u00a0need to focus on discovering various\u00a0methods of\u00a0finding success\u00a0moving forward.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe can score goals and we have so many guys who can put the puck in the net, so it\u2019s obviously huge to have, but we don\u2019t want to be relying on that every game,\u201d Jackson LaCombe said. \u201cWe\u2019ve got to find a way to win games in different ways.\u201d<\/p>\n
As of Saturday night, the win pushed Anaheim back into second in the Pacific Division, while Calgary comes into this game\u00a0in\u00a0seventh.\u00a0The Flames finished the abbreviated February schedule with a 2-2-0 record, most recently falling to the Kings,\u00a02-0,\u00a0on Saturday.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s one of the easier back-to-backs I\u2019d say in the league with the\u00a0short little bus ride,\u201d said Flames head coach\u00a0Ryan Huska\u00a0of the trek down the freeway to Honda Center. \u201cIt\u2019s not a late night for us at all\u2026so our guys will be ready.\u201d<\/p>\n
